Glossary
- Magnesium chloride
Magnesium chloride is nothing short of a miracle mineral in its healing effect on a wide range of diseases as well as in its ability to rejuvenate the aging canine body. We know that it is essential for many enzyme reactions, especially in regard to cellular energy production, for the health of the brain and nervous system and for healthy teeth and bones. Adequate levels of magnesium are essential for the heart muscle. Magnesium is the mineral of rejuvenation and prevents the calcification of our organs and tissues that is characteristic of the old-age related degeneration of the canine.
- Magnesium Oxide
Lack of magnesium may lead to irritability, muscle weakness, and irregular heartbeat. Magnesium is a naturally occurring mineral. Magnesium is important for many systems in the body especially the muscles and nerves. Magnesium oxide is used as a supplement to maintain adequate magnesium in the body. Magnesium Oxide is also useful in the canine diet as it helps to maintain a more correct digestive system pH.
- Maltodextrin
Maltodextrin is easily digestible, being absorbed as rapidly as glucose. Glucose polymers are metabolized at a slow, steady rate, which can help to sustain canine energy levels during endurance-oriented athletic events.
- Manganese proteinate
Manganese proteinate is the product resulting from the chelation of manganese with amino acids and/or partially hydrolyzed proteins, as defined by the Association of American Feed Control Officials. It is a nutritional animal feed supplement formulated to prevent and/or correct manganese deficiency in canine.
- Manganese Sulfate
Manganese Sulfate enables the body to utilize vitamin C, B1, biotin as well as choline. It is used in the manufacture of fat, sex hormones and milk in bitches. It is thought to also help neutralize free radicals as well as being of assistance in preventing diabetes and needed for normal nerve function. Manganese is also indicated in stimulating growth of the connective tissue and is thought to be of importance in brain functioning.
- Meeker Raspberry Extract
Meeker Raspberry Extract: Consuming 40 mg of ellagitannins prevents the development of cancer cells. At low concentrations, it slows the growth of cancer cells; at higher concentrations, it tells cancer cells to kill themselves. Another way that ellagitannins protect your body is through G-Arrest. G-Arrest means that the ellagitannins stop cells from mutating in the first place. If cells don't mutate, then we, and our dogs don't get cancer. Ellagitannins act as scavengers to "bind" cancer-causing chemicals, making them inactive.
- Menadione dimethylpyrimidinol bisulfite
Menadione dimethylpyrimidinol bisulfite ( K³), is a precursor for the absorption of Vitamin K and in conjunction with vitamin C has merit in cancer prevention.
- Methionine
Methionine is a principle supplier of sulfur and an essential amino acid, which prevents disorders of the hair, skin & nails; helps lower cholesterol levels by increasing the liver’s production of lecithin; reduces liver fat & protects the kidneys; a natural chelating agent for heavy metals; regulates the formation of ammonia & creates ammonia-free urine which reduces bladder irritation; influences hair follicles & promotes hair growth.
- Methylsulfonal Methane (MSM)
Methylsulfonal Methane (MSM), is a natural source of organic sulfur, which is necessary for the formation of collagen and the manufacture of many proteins in the body, including those that form hair, muscles and skin. MSM supports joints and connective tissue by providing the sulfur they need for proper function. Many MSM supplements also contain glucosamine and chondroitin; two naturally occurring substances that promote joint health. In addition to supporting joints, MSM has anti-inflammatory effects. MSM is also known to contribute to skin health.
- Microbials
Microbials - Dried Aspergillus Oryzae Fermentation Extract, Dried Fermentation Products of Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Enterococcus Faecium, Bifidobacterium Thermophilum, Bifidobacterium Longum, and Bacillus Subtillus Dried Aspergillus Niger fermentation Extract, and Dried Aspergillus Oryzae Fermentation Extract. These are species of beneficial bacteria and Fungi that are native and the most important in Canine digestion. Each is responsible for enzyme production and to digest and utilize the different food items that dogs are fed daily. They also are responsible for driving out negative pathogen from the canine body. The shear repopulating on a daily basis not only crowds out the negative pathogen but also consumes these pathogens and turns them into food for the beneficial species and the dog itself.
- Milk Thistle
Milk Thistle protects and regenerates the liver in most liver diseases such as Cirrhosis (hardening of the Liver), Jaundice and Hepatitis, (inflammation of the Liver), and Cholangitis (inflammation of bile ducts resulting in decreased bile flow). One of the tasks of the liver is to cleanse the blood. If the liver energy is stagnant, it will be unable to effectively cleanse the blood; this can result in skin problems ranging from acne to psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis. Milk Thistle is a powerful herb for supporting the liver to purify the blood and is one of the best herbs for the skin disorders mentioned above.
